The work
You work from a table inside the store. Shoppers are already walking past you.
Texas is a deregulated energy market, which means customers pick their own electricity provider. You ask a few questions about their home, show them the plan that fits, and enroll them on the spot. Small ticket, fast cycle, no financing and no paperwork chain.
The conversation is consultative. These are people doing their shopping, and the agents who do well are the ones who are easy to trust.

- Not cold calling
- Not standing on a car lot in July
What it pays
| Sales per week | You earn |
|---|---|
| 8 | $800 |
| 12 | $1,200 |
| 15 | $1,500 |
| 20 | $2,000 |
| 25 | $2,500 |
Most agents settle between 8 and 12 a week. Strong ones run 12 to 15. Earnings depend entirely on what you write, and only sales that stay active count.

Straight talk
We’d rather you know this now than be annoyed about it in thirty days.
- 1099 independent contractor. Taxes aren’t withheld. Set aside at least 25%. We can point you to an accountant.
- Commission only. No salary, no draw. Your floor is what you produce.
- Clawbacks. If a customer cancels within 60 days, that sale comes back out of that week’s pay. Sell clean and it never becomes a factor.
- One weekend day. Retail traffic peaks then. That’s where the money is.
- Background check. Required before your first shift. We pay for it.
